Johnson has been appointed Cumberland County chairman of N.C. State University's loyalty fund campaign. Fayetteville-Cumberland County Youth Council has received a national award from Keep America Beautiful, Inc., for its environmental projects. Rep. Charlie Rose will be the featured speaker at a banquet honoring Dr. C.R. Edwards. The regional Boy Scouts of America have selected Edwards, a local educator and political activist, as their distinguished citizen. The dinner will be held at 8 p.m., in the H.L.
