SAT.. DECEMBER 6. 1980 " THE CAROLINA TIMES -3 The Dallas Street Community Qub met at the home of Rev. and Mrs. B.A. Mack on Saturday, November 29. Mrs. Vadora Henderson led the devotion and the president, Mrs. Mack, presided over the business ses sion. The major discussion was of the Christmas party to be held in the home of Mrs. Mary Pulley. Members were served a Thanksgiving dinner by the hostess. Those partaking of the hospitality were: Mmes. Mary Jane Evans, Lena Evans, Mary Pully, Vadora Henderson, Allie Mack, Mildred Mangum, Janace Har riston; Rev. B.A. Mack, Messers.Elmore Mangum and Willie Evans. Mrs. Mangum thanked the hostess for a lovely dinner and evening. Continentals Observe Thanksgiving The Durham Chapter of Continentals was one of many organization in Durham who helped make this Thanksgiving more enjoyable for a needy family. The menu was was' planned carefully in order to in clude some staples that the family could use afte Turkey Day. Ms. Carol Williams, chairman of the Community Ac tion Committee, delivered the food prior to Thanksgiv ing Day and was overwhelmed with the grateful response. Dt. Louise Weeks Named Imperial Deputy of Oasis Dt. Louise W. Weeks has been appointed Imperial Deputy of the Oasis of Durham of Zafa Court No. 41, Daughters of Isis. The appointment was made by Im perial Commandress Dt. Dorothy Jenkins-Scott of the Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis, Detroit, Michigan. Dt. Weeks has held numerous positions in Zafa Court No. 41 and was Illustrious Commandress during 1975 and 1976. She serves as directress of the Isiserettes, a group of young girls between seven and eighteen years old, which she-organized in 1973. Dt. Weeks, of 202 West Alston Street, is a member of Kyles Temple AME Zion Church where she is a member of the Gospel Chorus and Stewardess Board No. 2. She is married to Willie Weeks, Jr., a member of Zafa Tem ple No. 176. The couple has two children: a son, Willie, III, a sophomore at NCCU, and a daughter, Vicki, a seventh grader at Rogers-Herr Junior High School. C, Mrs. Nellie Battle and Mrs. Margaret Jackson of Baltimore, spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Stanfield, Rox boro and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Parker (their sister) in Bahama. Happy birthday to Mrs. Irma Mangum, Miss Pattie Maher, Mrs. Florence Daniels who was 83 on November 20; and Mrs. Edna Carraway who will celebrate her 81st year on Friday, December 5. Mrs. Caraway is the oldest mother in her church, Zion Wall Baptist.. Miss Amell Parker of Washington, D.C., spent a few days with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Quince Dagger of Jacksonville. On Saturday, Miss Parker spent the rest of the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Margaret J. Parker, Bahama. Also with her mother and sister, Vivian, were Mrs. Margaret P. Wingfield and children, Dexter, Vivica and Dexter of Greensboro. Theodore Parker of Battle Creek, Michigan, who spent vacation visiting his sister, Mrs: Irene Long, Durham, was accompanied by Mrs. Long, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCall and two children; Miss Carolyn Long and her son, Bryant Keith, and Mrs. Priscilla Daye, all of Durham, to Hampton, Virginia, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Robinson and family and Mr. and Mrs. James Long and family in Smithfield, Va. Miss Ola Bass of Durham visited her sister, Mrs. the Durham Branch, NAACP, presents the Life Membership plaque to Dt. Rosalee C. Miss Bass visited another sister, Mrs. Regina Maultsby and family, in Stanford, Connecticut; and her uncle, Lowman Daye in Clinton Comer, NY. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and two daughters, of Tampa, Florida, spent the weekend with Attorney and Mrs. Elvis Lewis and sons in Fayetieville.
