young woman of con
siderable involvement, has
been named recipient or
the 1980 Merrick-Spauld-ing-Fishcr
Award by the
Durham Alumnae
Chapter, Delta Sigma
Thcta Sorority, Inc.
The coveted presenta
tion is made annually in
recognition of that
chapter member who, in
making the most notewor
thy contribution to the
sorority and community,
best exemplifies the Delta'
ideal. Selection is , made
based on nominations by
committee leaders.
A member of Delta
Sigma Thcta and the
Durham Chapter for just
one year. Miss Lee served
as chairman of Jabber
wock '80, the organiza
tion's yearly scholarship
project. In further support
of the sorority's pro
grams, she functioned as a
member of the Social Ac
tion, Golden Agers,
Undergraduate Advisory,
Life Development,
Membership Intake,
Public Relations and
Reclamation committees
during the year.
A 1978 graduate of
Winston-Salem State
University with a Bachelor
of Science degree. Miss
Lee is employed with Cen
tral Carolina Bank. She is
currently studying toward
a master's degree in
Business Administration
at North Carolina Central
University. She is a com
municant of Saint Mark
AME Zion Church,
holding offices in the
Evangelist Choral Ensem
ble, the Young Adult
Ushers and the Ypung
Adult Choir. She is a sup
porting member of the
Young Adult Missionary
Society, Stewardess Board
No. 1, Community
Helpers Club and the
Board of Christian Educa
tion. Miss Lee is assistant
director of Zafa Court
Isiserettes.
A native of Durham,
she is the daughter of Mrs.
Henrietta Lee.

achievements at a special
convocation held in the
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Memorial Chapel on the
College campus. The oc
casion was the Fall
Honor's Day Program
which featured Dr. Joseph
N. Gayles, president of
Talladega College as guest
speaker.
In order for a
Morehouse student to
achieve Honor Roll status,
he must maintain a 3.00
grade point average or
better (out of a possible
4.00), with no grade below
"C", while carrying a
workload of at least four
teen semester hours. In
order to be named to the
Dean's List, Morehouse
requires that a student
have a minimum 3.00
gradejpoint average for his
entire college career.
