The service, called the Tutoring Connection, links "qualified tutors L Vmi SLEEP-EZF YOU CAN REST EASY. Sleep-Eze contains a gentle sleep inducer that helps you get a good night's sleep. And isn't that aH you want? Use only as directed. with learners who need ex tra assistance" in any sub ject area. Potential learners include youngsters of the tradi tional school age and adults seeking to upgrade their skills. Co-authors John Formy-Duval (director, Northern Area, Durham Community Education Program) and Harvey Wensel (transportation, coordinator and assistant principal, Stanford Junior High, Orange County) , developed the program in response to needs express ed, to them by parents and students. The Tutoring Connection is a compo nent of the Community! Education Program of the: Durham County Schools. While most tutorial ses 1 sions occur in the northern part of Durham County, the service is available wherever it is needed. Ex pansion to a base at Githens Junior High ' is planned for February. The Learning Connec tion is a national publica tion of The Free Universi ty Network in Manhattan, Kansas. The Network is the national association of free universities and learn ing networks which at tempts to expand the scope of the traditional university. Thomas Pageant Participants Explore Science The narticioants of the Little Miss Blue Revue Pageant sponsored by Eta Phi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., were exposed to the wonders of science on Saturday, January 10. The activities were held in the Lee Biology Building at North Carolina Cen tral University. . The participants were introduced to the microscope and had the opportunity to observe some single-celled organisms and the epidermal cells of onion. The ac tivities ended with the building of a terrarium. Chicken Andalusia Follow the directions cart fully for arranging the chicken in this elegantly sauced recipe with the taste of Spain -the chicken will be tendei and succulent. 2 pounds chicken parts 1 can (10 34 ounces) ; condensedcream of . mushroom soup' ' 2 cups cubed eggplant 12 cup chopped drained canned tomatoes 1 medium clove garlic, minced tablespoons water teaspoon poultry seasoning Dash pepper In 2 -quart oblong glass baking dish, arrange chicken skin-side down with thicker pieces toward the edge of dish. Cover with plastic wrap. 2. Microwave on HIGH 8 to 10 minutes, turning dish once. Drain; turn chicken' skin-side up. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chicken. Re-cover. 3. Microwave on HIGH 8 to 10 minutes, turning dish once. 4. Let stand, covered, 2 minutes. Stir sauce before serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings. Chinese Pasta A wonderful duo of Orien tal and Italian cuisine. Gravy makes a speedy sauce that coats each strand of pasta lightly for a unique main course for company. 12 pound round steak, cut in thin strips 1 cup thinly shredded cabbage 1 cup diagonally sliced green onions 2 cups cooked linguine . 1 can (10 12 ounces) au jus gravy 1 cup drained bean sprouts 1 can (about 4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1. In 2 -quart round glass casserole combine beef; cab bage and green onions. Cover with glass lid. 2. Microwave on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes or until beef just loses its pink color, stirring once. Stir in remain ing ingredients. Re-cover. 3. Microwave on HIGH 6 to 8 minutes or until hot, stirring once. 4.
