Class members are requested to be present and on time. Southern arts federation (saf) u seeking performing arts groups to include in its 1982-83 touring program. Southeastern performing arts groups interested in touring in the region beginning in September, 1982 should contact SAF immediately for application information. The deadline for application la April 15, 1981. Each year SAF assists a limited number of profes sional touring theater, dance, opera and music groups with partial fee support to qualified sponsoring organizations in the Southeast. Performing groups are chosen based on their application, funds available and demand in a given art form. A performing group onust have a firm commitment from its board of directors, administrative staff and ar tists to the concept of touring for community audiences; a history of sound administrative and artistic direction -and a regional or national reputation that demonstrates ' a high level of accomplishment. In addition, their ar- tistic product, structured programs of educational value, and a demonstrated history of successful touring in their resident state will place the applicant in a favorable light. SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR VET CHILDREN Over $2.3 million is available this fiscal year -for college scholarships for eligible children of veterans. The state-funded scholarships are awarded to children of certain disabled, deceased and POWMIA veterans.
