Mr. WHa I haUtnan; oaw i Five Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Celebrate 73rd Anniversary AKA Five area chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority celebrated Founders Day together on Saturday, January 31, at the Downtowner Motor Inn and Sunday, February 1, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. This year's theme was "Togetherness" and the par ticipating chapters were AlRha Zeta Omega, Durham; Alpha Chi, NCCU; Iota Mu, Duke; Theta Pi, UNC Chapel Hill; and, Mu Omicron Omega, Chapel Hill. Saturday activities included a luncheon, fashion show and a communications workshop conducted by sorority member Elizabeth Randolph, associate superintendent, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Founded at Howard University, Washington, D.C., in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is the oldest Greek letter organization founded by black college women. Today there are more than 75,000 members and over 600 chapters in the continental USA and other countries. T! . If ' kit-:!
