16 THE CAROLINA TIMES SAT., FEBRUARY 28, 1981 Two Nominated For Sorority ; Scholarships The Alpha Zeta Omega hltpter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., has nominated Miss Andrea Annette Adams to com pete for the 1981 Domestic Travel Tour Grant. Miss Adams' essay, "We Are A Family", will be judged in national com petition. The recipients of this grant participate in a two-week tour originating in Chicago, Illinois, mov ing on to other places of interest , in American history such as Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, Georgia. In each citjr, the sightseeing and special events include sites of significance in black heritage, and each special event is arranged by the Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter in the tour city. A junior at Durham High School, Miss Adams is the daughter of Mr. and ' Mrs. Johnny Adams of 403 N. Elizabeth Street. The Domestic Travel Tour Grant is awarded to provide educational , enrichment to female junior and senior high school students . throughout the nation. Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter has nominated Miss Pamela Faye Overby ' to compete for the 1981 Barbara K. Phillips . Scholarship. v. , Miss OverbyV essay on "The Family As An In stitution in American Society", will be judged in i national competition.
