Announcements SAT., FEBRUARY 28,1981 THE CAROLINA TIMES -5 AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION PRO-, GRAMS The Durham Ci ty Community Education program and the Durham Parks and Recreation Department are conducting Afterschool Recreation Pro grams at Y.E. Smith, East End and George Watts Elementary schools. These programs operate each day school is open through June 5. The hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. The program offers a wide range of activities including sports and athletics, music and drama, arts and crafts, study hours, tutorial ses sions, and other seasonal special events. THE FESTIVAL OF DOLLS will be celebrated Tuesday, March 3, all over Japan and in Durham. Homage to the Emperor and Empress and their retinue of dolls will be paid from 10:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, in the auditorium of the North Carolina Central University's" Taylor Educa tion Building. The celebration of the traditional Japanese children's festival is coor dinated by Dr. Elinor Massoglia, professor of education at NCCU. Dr. Massoglia has observed the festival for 25 years, since her husband served as an Ar my officer in Japan. WSSU PRESENTS "A CHORUS LINE" - The hit Broadway musical, "A Chorus Line," will be presented at Winston-Salem State University Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m., in the Kenneth R. Williams Auditorium. The play was won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the New York Drama Critics' Award and nine Tony Awards including Best Musical.
