Starring Katharine Hep
burn, traces Hepburn's
career in nearly 40 films from
her first movie for RKO
in 1932, "A Bill of Divorce
ment," to her recent, the
soon-to-be-released, "On
Golden Pond."
This special two-hour
presentation features film
clips', newsreels, stills and in
terviews with those who
know the actress, including
Henry and Jane Fonda,
Lauren Bacall, 1 John
Houseman and Peter
O'Toole, as well as excerpts
from Hepburn's Oscar
winning performances in
"Morning Glory" (1933),
"Guess Who's Coming to
Dinner" (1967) and "The
Lion in Winter" (1968), and
highlights from her films
with Spencer Tracy.
Footage of her 1950 arrival
in Africa with Humphrey
Bogart and Lauren Baccl for
the filming of "The African
Queen" and of her
Australian Shakespear tour
are also part of the program.
Frederick Eversley has the distinction of being the first Ar
tist in Residence at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space
Museum. Eversley, as a scientist, combines his knowledge of
space, time and matter with his engineering and mathematical
skills to create pieces of kinetic sculpture. The sculptures are a
study of science and aesthetics optics and beauty.
