She presided over an agenda of devotion, minutes, old and new business. - . A report was made on contributions to the Merrick Washington Magazine for the Blind and to the NAACP to forward to a burned-out family. Gardener Beulah Hill distributed green ribbons she made, appropriate for St. Patrick's Day but intended for symbolizing Atlanta's crisis. Review of the constitution prompted the appointment of a constitution committee composed of Gardeners Mable Bryant, Beulah Hill and Carrie Vereen. Reports were made regarding the successful council fund raising project, bus trip to Azalea Festival in Wilmington, and the March 28 Flower Arranging Workshop. Gardener Helen Brown, reported that $200 had been forwarded to Atlanta in the Club's name to aid Atlan ta's pursuit and apprehension of criminal(s) responsible for the murders of Atlanta's black youngsters. A new member, Ms. Ethel (Bonnie) Taylor, was welcomed into the club. Birthday honors were shared by Ms. Mable Bryant, and new member, Ms. Taylor. Gardener Annie Creen presented cards and led the birthday song. The club looks forward to fulfilling an invitation, from Mrs. George Frazier to a Field Day at their farm with games, fishing, eating and fun. Members present to enjoy a delicious repast were: Mmes. Beulah Hill, Annie Creen, Lenora Hooker, Mable Bryant, Louise Jenkins, Thomasenia Shaw, Catherine Page, Patricia Tilley, Frances Watson, Ethel Taylor, Gladys Dawkins, Ella Brown, Ella Floyd and Carrie Vereen. Lyon Park , - Rose Garden Club The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club held its meeting at the home of Mrs. Mable Freeland on Massey Avenue, last week. The meeting was opened with the club song . and a short devotion. Mrs. M.W. Webb read the minutes of, the last meeting which were approved. Reports from various committees were included. Mrs. Catherine Shaw talked on "Removing Winter Coverings and Pruning".. The president, Mrs. Sophronia Green, said she hoped the spring gardens would be ready for touring around Easter. s Mrs. Willie Sneed will bring reports on other possible garden tours. The Garden Gate was opened by Mrs. Johnson, after which Mrs. Chavis con ducted the business session. Committee reports were discussed and adopted. Mrs. Chavis called attention to the club workshop held at Henderson Towers, which she attended. She made an arrangement, "Joy of Spring" which was presented to Mrs. Nettie Easterlina. 4 Mrs. Elizabeth Kurlines will host the next meeting.
