When her husband praised the result, she modestly said "Oh, it's just a trifle." And the name has stuck. For a fine trifle, you can use any fruit, preserve, liqueur or juice with a pound cake and custard or vanilla pudding. But when you combine fresh, homegrown strawberries with a rich, buttery frozen Sara Lee Original All Butter Pound Cake, the result is an unbeatable strawberry treat ' Pound Cake Trifle 2 cups pudding or custard cups sliced fresh strawberries Whipped cream, optional 1 frozen Sara Lee Original All Butter Pound Cake (10 34 oz.) thawed 14 cup sherry or orange . juice 12 cup strawberry preserves 'Slice pound cake into 10 slices.
