;t THE CAROLINA TIMES SAT., MAY 23,1981 I LOOKED AND I SAW the Impact of Fear By Rev. C. R. Stone L Wc are bound to live in a world of constant changes; e World in which only a few changes occur for our bet-TO-rftiiU. We can no longer say that difficulties in ion if :rds will not affect our life style because in Jeaiuv. isy do. One of the key reasons we cannot Count on escaping many of these changes is that we de K&nd on one another to exchange goods and services. In rUct. there is no part of the world whether large or small, possessing power so great that ic can honestly Jfeclare self-sufficiency. One common fact that stands ut among people is the varying degreesof fear. The Jmpact of fear among peoples of the world has placed 5dl men in a race for survival. vr Fear is often thrust upon us because of our many joubts that are brought to reality by change. Fear has 3he. power to cause men without distinction to lose their "-desire to be courageous in spite of uncertainties that in volve our present and future living. Where the element ST fear persists in the minds and hearts of peoples, their Tiope ori matters for betterment may easily be shattered. Some may question the fact that fears are destructive to men of aspiration, but we conclude that it is not ab solutely true that all fears lead to men's ruin. Some fears cause many people to become courageous towards iaiscovering better ways and means for survival. Again, ear may serve as an awakening instrument enbling us to plan for hard times and at the same time, hope for the jjest. With this point of view in mind, all things can be jnade possible amid fears and doubts. Too frequently do we forget that God is a courageous man of war against fears. When we fail to face this reality and allow the fears of each other to become prevalent among us, the cooperation among God's peoples of the world is prevented. God is a man of spirit laiade available to all and therefore, we have no need to splace fears of men above those of our God; He is the $ne to be greatly feared. By placing our fear of hope in 'Him, we have an investment which yields constant suc cess in adverse situations. Those who are activated into Relieving a righteous fear in the Godhead are bound to reap blessings amid evils and eventually eternal life. - He who hat ears to hear, let him hear. 1 - - - Burthey Funeral Service 1510 Fayetteville Street Durham, NC 27707 682-0327 LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR & EMBALMER Specialty with Restorative Art and Embalming.
