MARY SAUNDERS Angelic Echoes Observe Third Anniversary The Angelic Echoes, a choir of Senior Citizens organized by Mrs. J. DeShazor Jackson and Mrs. Mar tha Stanley at the J.J. Henderson Housing Center, observed its third anniversary on May 23. The group presented gifts to the Duke Street Senior Citizens Center of a public address system, a piano and a clock. Mrs. Mary Saunders, a resident of Henderson Towers and a member of the Angelic Echoes, was crowned queen on the basis of popularity votes. J.J. Henderson was the main speaker. Dr. C.E. Boulware and Mrs. Anne Johnson, director of the Cenfer, brought greetings. Guest singing group was the Gospel Miracles. Tfe informative and helpful meeting was on the aw$feness of the importance of updating people of medical provisions. One of the provisions was "The Vial of Life" which wasintroductd tff3TaftvUe Coahtyurtng emV of Granville Festival. TJe "Vial of Life" is a medical information form on which the name, address, health problems, medications used, allergies, etc. of an individual are listed, placed in a vial and tied onto a refrigerator shelf. In case of an emergency, the vial is removed by police, fire andor ambulance rescue personnel and taken along with the patieftt to the doctor or hospital. Because fhany black people suffer with hyperten sionhigh blood pressure and associated illnesses, cur rertrrnedical information in the vial could possibly help to save a life.
