H Children's Day at Emmanuel
The Annual Children's Day will be observed Sunday,
- June 14 at Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, 2018 Riddle
Road. Rev. John R. Crutchfield will give special
recognition to the children in Sunday School they are
promoted to their various Sunday School classes. Pro
motion certificates will be awarded and prizes given for
I those who have been faithful in attendance and loyal
r during the year.
'-: The Youth will participate in the morning worship
service in various capacities. Refreshments will be serv
ed in the fellowship hall.
The afternoon program, which will begin at 2:30
.p.m., will feature a children's march, recitations,
. ; poems, special readings, and a special tribute to the,
children of the church. The youth will also have a
memorial service for the children of Atlanta and the
' world.
Adult advisors are Mrs. Ernestine Fike, Mrs. Shirley
Gaddy, Mrs. Mary Tapp, Mrs. Emma Devine, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Cuttino and Mrs. Mary Crutchfield. !
111th Anniversary of Pine Grove
Pine Grove Baptist Church, Creedmoor, will
i'celebrate its 111th Anniversary, Sunday, June 14 at 11
-a.m. and 2 p.m. The pastor, Aloysius High will preach
the morning service. Rev. Joseph Allen, pastor, Rogers
- Grove Baptist Church, will speak at the afternoon ser
vice. The First Ledge Rock will also be guests at that
service.

High School Grads at St. Joseph's
- St. Joseph's A.M.E. Church, Fayetteville St., will
honor the 198 J High School Graduates of the church,
Sunday, June 14 at 11 a.m. Rev. Herbert Michael Lem

Lanham, Maryland, will be the guest speaker.
The Robert Burnette and Montee Brown Scholarships
will be awarded at this service.
Rev. Lemmons, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas,
received the B. A. degree in Sociology from the Univer-.
ssity of Detroit; Master of Divinity degree in Social
?;Ethics from Interdenominational Theological Center

Missionary Day will be observed at Bible Way
Apostolic Temple, Dark Circle, Sunday, June 14. Mrs.
Sarah Williams and the Missionary Department will be
in charge. The Senior Choir will sing for the morning
service.
The Annual Youth Conference will be held junc 15-21
beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Guests
will be Elder Willie Lanier and the Miracle Temple
Apostolic Church, Fuquay Varina; Bishop Fred
Williams, Holly Springs; Elder Trice and the Highway
Church; Elder Willie G. Allen and the Church of God in

Youth Day at Orange Grove
Youth Day Services will be observed at Orange Grove
Baptist Church, 505 East End Ave., Sunday, June 14.
Rev. Edward Hines Jr. Associate and the mnior choir
will render the 1 1 a.m. morning service. Dinner will be
served at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. the Gospel and Junior
Choirs will be special guests of Zion Wall.
James Benjamin to Speak at Covenant
James Roger Benjamin, a legislative Page for the
South Carolina House of Representatives, will be the
guest speaker at Covenant United Presbyterian Church,
Sunday, June 14 at 1 1 a.m. for Church School Day.
Benjamin, a native of Sumter, S. is a political
science major at the University of South Carolina. He is
a member of the United Presbyterian Church and serves
as Youth Representative on the National and Southeast
Region Steering Committee. He is also a member of
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. .
Vacation Bible School at Union
Union Baptist Church, 904 N. Roxboro St., will hold
its Vacation Bible School, June 15-19 from 7 to 9 p.m.
All age groups from 1 to 100 are invited to attend. This
year's theme is Check Your Character. There will be
Bible lessons, Music, arts and crafts, and refreshments.
