N.C, to take part in the July 11-12 "First Family Reunion of the Of fspring of Aych Allen O'Berry Brown and Sallie Yates Brown. This family reunion was intfd by two members e second generation, Allen Brown, Jr., of Durham, and Terrah Brown of Chadbourn, who ' along with others, served as the hosts. Columbus County gave a beautiful and proper set ting for this momentous occasion. Both the late, Mr. and Mrs. Brown were ' born, : married, reared their children, and played active, leading roles in the , community affairs of Chadbourn and Cerro Qordo communities. At the family's first gathern on Saturday after noon, Rev. V.E. Brown, member of the first generation and pastor of. Gethsemane Baptist Church of Durham, gave much of the family history. His brother, Dr. Eldee L. Brown, founder and director of the Clarahope Chiropractic Health Center, served as master of ceremonies. - The Saturday night family disco at Corbett's IRecreation Center in Whiteville, saw family members , and their ; friends, from age 8 to 70, ' dancing and having much wholesome fun and enjoy ment together. r? The worship service on Sunday morning -was at . Mount Moriah Baptist Church, in Chadbourn. Captain Chaplain Casimir K. Brown (second genera tion) brought the message in the church where, his grandfather served as secretary of many years. Rev. Brown challenged his more than 200 family members and other wor shippers with the subject "What Will You Give For Your Family?" Captain Brown is the third of six children of Dr. and Mrs. Eldee L. Brown. He received his basic for mal education in the Durham City Schools and is a graduate of Hillside High School. His undergraduate work was done at N.C.A&T and North Carolina Central Universities in the area of business administration. He earned the master's degree at Interdenomina tional Theological Seminary (ITC) in Atlan ta, Ga. He has done work toward the doctoral degree at Emory Universi ty in Atlanta. Recently, Capt. Brown presented the first scholar ship award in memory of his late brother, Montee O'Berry Brown "at Children's Day service at St. Joseph's AME Church, his immediate family's home church.
