August 5, atCarr Junior
High School from 1-3 .

The Neighborhood All
American Clinic is one in
a series being conducted
by NBA players at various
lopations around the
country during the sum
mer months. It is spon-.
sored by Dial Soap.
Gminski, a 1980 alum
nus of Duke, will
demonstrate - various
basketball skills and
techniques and will discuss
aspects of the professional
and collegiate game.
Basketball drills involv
ing the youngsters atten
ding the clinic also will be
on the program.
The 6-11 Gminski, a
native of Monroe, Conn., .
established himself as one
of the-NBA's top rookies
last season as a member of
the New Jersey Nets.
Despite the Nets' 24-58
record, Gminski proved
'himself a force to be
reckoned with as he finish
ed first on the team in
blocked shots (100), third
in scoring average (13.2)
and fourth in rebounding
(419). ,.
The first round draft
; choice of New; Jersey in
1980 should play v a key
role in , the team's
rebuilding process for the
1981-82 campaign. Aside,
from a new coach in the
person of Larry Brown
and a new home arena, the
Nets will feature a number
of young players certain to ;
make their marks in the
league. .
