who attends the Math and Science School for Gift
Youths.

Women’s Day at Mount Herman
GOLDSTON — Mount Herman African
Methodist Episcopal Zion Church celebrated its
Women’s Day, Sunday, September 20. Mrs. Betty
Jean Hatcher Lipford was the afternoon speaker.
Her theme was The God Given Legacy for
Womanhood—The Fruits of the Spirit. ,
Mrs. Mildred Williams was mistress of
Ceremony. Other program participants were:
Mesdames Anrea Murdock, Wanda Wilkerson,
Nora DeGraffenreidt, Sandra Tysor and Marion
Williams. Rev. James E. Price is pastor of Mount
Herman.
News of Bible Way
. The Bible Way Youth Jubilee will be held Fri
day, September 25 at Bible Way Apostolic Church,
Raleigh. The Bible Way family will render service
in Weldon for Bishop David Scott and for Elder
Trice, Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Revival at First Baptist
The Annual Fall Revival Services will begin at
First Baptist Church will be Monday, September 28
through Friday, October 2.. Services will begin
' nightly at 7:30 p.m.
Rev. Linwood T. Daye, pastor, Zion Baptist
Church, Newport News, Va. will be the evangelist.
Rev. Daye is a native of North Carolina, having
received .degrees from North Carolina Central
University, Shaw University, Howard University
and Guadulop College of Seguin, Texas. He has
done further study at Wake Forest University and
Virginia Polytech Institute. He^erves as president
of Religions, civic and social organizations. He is
also associated with Hester-Whitted-Daye Funeral
Home in Roxboro.
Rev. J. W. Barnes is the pastor of First Baptist.

The First Aid Department of the Durham Ushers
Union will meet at Bell Yeager Free Will Baptist
Church, Cornwallis Rd., Tuesday, September 29 at

At its recent meeting at New Bethel Baptist
Church conducted by Mrs. Willa McKeithan, Mrs.
Hestie Price led the devotions. Reports were receiv.-

Rev. Annie Johnson McCoy will be honored at

She has served as president of the Missionary

years; and past president of the Young People’s
Holy Association and junior choir for 28 years.
