ReneU Privette, corresponding "secretary; Lenwood Bridges, treasurer; Rev. H.L. Bridges, chaplain. The t president also thanked everyone for worshipping together and for their monetary contribution given to the Orange Grove Baptist Church on September 6. The members voted that the family reunion will be held Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, 1982. The place is to be announced at the next meeting. A. social committee was formed with David Harris- serving as chairman. A Family Christmas Social was approved with pianns to be finalized at the next meeting. . Mrs. Daisy Bridges was the recipient of the door prize drawing. Refreshments were served. Members present were Mmes. Eight presidents were recognized for their year(s) of service while in office. Several guests were welcomed. TM Amanda Thigpen delivered the Closing Thought. The Fayetteville Chapter of Links,- Inc., celebrated and presented its Pageantry-Talent-Disco on Saturday evening at E.E. Smith High School. Mrs. Irene Caraway, president, presided. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will assist E.E. Smith High by sponsoring a tutorial program on Saturday from 9 until noon. Areas covered will be math, language arts, science and social studies. Area students who are in need are invited. A ' 'topping off ' ceremony was held Thursday at Heritage Place, a church-sponsored housing com plex for the elderly now under construction along Cross, Creek.. Miss Valery Houston, a senior from Charlotte, was named homecoming queen at Methodist Col lege recently. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jenkins observed their 50th anniversary on October 14. Friends and relatives enjoyed a dinner at the Jenkins' home on Rochester Drive. . Many family groups around the city enjoyed ac tivities at the State Fair in Raleigh on Saturday. .. . On Thursdays from 1-1:30 p.m., many enjoy Jubilation T Picnic at Cross Creek Park. Entertain ment this week was provided by Jack Wright, pop pianist; "Twogether," also the Reid Ross Jazz Workshop playing swing jazz. The emcee was Bill Hennessee of WIDU Radio.
