in Childbirth, Part k" In addition, childbirth
educators who teach LaMaze and Bradley methods
of prepared childbrith will discuss their approach to
labor and delivery. A practitioner of hypnosis, Alan
Konell, will talk about hynotherapy during the birth
experience.

MUSIC OF GREAT CATHEDRALS The
- Duke University Chorale will present a concert of
"Music of Great Cathedrals" in Duke Chapel on
Sunday, November 15, 7 p.m. Under the direction
of J. Benjamin Smith, the Chorale will perform a
repertoire of cathedral music from plainchant to the
Royal Wedding Spain: ToledoSeville; France:
Rheims, Notre Dame, Beauvais; Italy: St. Peter's;
England: Westminster Abbey, Lincoln Cathedral,
St. Paul's; Germany: Dresden; Russia: Santa
Sophia. The program will also feature instrumental
music of great Cathedrals' performed by the Duke
University Brass Quintet and by David Weadon,
organist.
The concert is free and the public is cordially in
vited to attend.
AUDITIONS Durham Theatre Guild will hold
open auditions for the American classic "I
1 Remember Mama" by John van Druten. Ms. Doris
Gilbert, the theatrical Triangle's newest addition,
will direct. The play calls for a large cast including
twelve women and girls and ten men and boys.
Auditions will be held October 29-30 at 7:30 p.m..
in the Durham Arts Council theatre, 120 Morris St..
in downtown Durham back of the - Carolina
Theatre. Performances are Dec. 4-6 and 11-13. All

. DURHAM COMMITTEE ON AFFAIRS OF
BLACK PEOPLE Rally-Mass Meeting: Sunday,

ANNUAL BARGAIN SALE, sponsored by the
Durham Junior League, will be held Friday and
Saturday, November 6-7, at the Civic Center on
Foster St., in Durham. There will be a special pre
sale for senior citizens, j-3 p.m.. on Friday. The
general sale times are 5-9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m. on Satu'rday.
This year's sale items will include both new and
used clothing, household goods, tools, toys and
specialty gifts, including holiday items. Many local
merchants have contributed new merchandise to be
.sold for greatly reduced prices at the" sale.
The annual sale is the major fundraising project
for the Junior League. Proceeds will be returned to
the community through League projects.
ST. JOSEPH'S PERFORMANCE CENTER an
nounces the 2nd Annual People's Day Jazz-Arts
Festival, November 6-7 featuring the Woody Shaw
Quintet Friday, Nov. 6, and all day jazz and arts
Saturday, Nov. 7, with Brother Yusuf and Friends,
Eve Cornelius, Lightnin' Wells and many more.
There will also be demonstrations in Karate, dance,
silkscreen and photo exhibits in the Gallery at St.
Joseph's.
The community is invited to partake in all the ac
tivities by attending or participating in the Festival.
There will be an area for a flea market and baked
goods. There will also be a children's area with
Montessori demonstrations and games for kids.
This Festival is sponsored by St. Joseph's Perfor
mance Center, the Southern Arts Federation, the
