Dr. Ramona Edelin To Coordina te Three Year Plan WASHINGTON f Dr. Ramona Edelin, vice president for Operations for the. National Urban Coalition.'has been given responsibility for coor dinating the Coalition's three-year - program for attacking the basic pro blems facing poor, minority and working class residents of urban . areas in a time of budget cuts ""and changing: policy, - Coalition presi-; . dent M. Carl Holman announced this weeks Dr. Edelin is the daughter of Dr. Annette Phinazee, dean of the School of Library Sciences at . North Carolina Central Univer sity, Durham. Dr. Edelin joined the Coalition staff in 1977 after an outstanding career as activist, scholar and academic ad ministrator. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Fisk University, Dr. Edelin did undergraduate work at Harvard, earned a ".l.A. degree in Philosophy at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England and was award ed the Ph.D. in philosophy at Boston University. Prior to joining the Coalition, Dr. Edelin was founder and chair-, man of the Department of ' African-American Studies at Northeastern University in Boston.
