CHICAGO-Stan-dard Oil Company (In diana) announced today it win purchase cer tificates of deposit total ing SI. 5 million from 60 minority-owned banks and savings and loan in stitutions. The $25,000 one-year certificates were pur chased recently. This year's program includes nine Chicago area minority banks and savings and loans. Others are located in 28 states and the District of Columbia. Standard began its minority bank deposit program in 1965 in an at tempt to strenghten those banks. Standard officials say the relation ship is mutually beneficial in that minori ty institutions have been . a position to make loans to the company and serve as investment vehicles for company funds. Total deposits by Standard in the minority-owned institu tions this year expected to exceed $100 million. A reception was held in the Lafayette Room of the Main Post Officers Club following the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of North Carolina State University, attended the graduate school at North Carolina Central University, and was formerly employed by N.C. Mutual Life Insurance Company in Durham. The bridegroom is a graduate of Alabama A&M University, and is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. Methodist College will host its annual "Love Feasl" again with two services one at 6 p.m. and the other at 8:15 p.m. Reservations are recommend ed because of limited seating capacity. You can see and hear various choral groups at the Cross Creek Mall throughout the season at various times. So visit the Mall and enjoy the melodious music.
