The president, Mrs. Aline Davis, led the discussion of the annual Christmas banquet and the giving of gifts to needy families and con valescent home residents. Club members sang the birthday song to Mrs. Sales and Mrs. Edwards. They received lovely gifts. The hostesses served a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Jones, Louise Thompson, Mattie Jones, Stattie Russ, Pearlie M. Walker, Mary Vanhook, Vergie Mangum, Beatrice Holeman, Rosetta Cobb, Mable Bryant. An executive meeting will be held in January at the home of Mrs. Davis. La Petite Gardeners At Duke Power Company La Petite Gardeners recently visited the Duke Power Company where Ms. Bernadette Jones ex plained the Residential Conservation Program and demonstrated the making of Christmas decora tions. Ms. Jones told the gardeners how they could con duct their own do-it-yourself analysis using a com plete instruction booklet or by having one of Duke Power's energy specialist visit and inspect their homes. Ms. Jones then demonstrated the making of Christmas decorations. Some of the most fascinating were: rake in compliments, pet stock ing, pompon doorknob wreath and the snowman. Booklets containing instructions for making Christmas decorations, background information about the RCS program and recipes were distributed to members. Refreshments were served from a beautifully decorated table with an attractive Christmas Bread Centerpiece made and demonstrated by Ms. Jones.
