10 THE CAROLINA TIMES SAT., DECEMBER 19, 1981 v MISS ALLISON Miss Allison Joins Justice Department Attorney General Rufus Edmisten an nounced that Miss Karen Michele Allison of Durham has joined the Department of Justice as Associate Attorney and assistant to Special Deputy Attorney General Charlie Murray in the . Division of Legislative Drafting and Codification. A 1974 graduate of Hillside High School in Durham, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1974 to 1978, receiving a B.A. degree in English, and was awarded the J.D. degree from the North Carolina Central University Law School in Durham in 1981. "The Division of Legislative Drafting and Codification is very pleased to have Miss Allison join the staff," said Edmisten, "and I am sure with her splen did qualifications, she will be a great asset to the department." Miss Allison is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Allison, Jr.. of Durham. Her father is president of Mutual Sav ings and Loan Associa-, tion in Durham, and her, mother is director of the North Carolina Healthn Manpower Development Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. He received - a master's degree in physical educa tion from East Carolina University in 1976 and will complete studies at , ECU for a principal's certificate in January. Johnson holds memberships in the First African Baptist Church, the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, - the North Carolina Association of Educators, and the Na tional Education Association, Johnson is active in the East Carolina Officials Association and of ficiates at local football, basketball and baseball games. v Johnson is married to Mrs. Jean Lewis Johnson and has one -daughter.
