IK i-:;,.7i;--''.'- Enfield-Roanoke Rapids Deltas To Host Area Founders-Day F7(v Fears Together Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Parker of Route 1, Bahama, celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary at the Barcelona Apartments Club House on December 26, with a dinner given in their honor by their children; Mrs. Costella Harris, Mrs. Treasa Dawson, William Parker and Mrs. Reba Hayes. The Parkers received many gifts from friends and relatives, and a color television from their children. BH&G Club Holds Annual Christmas Party Mrs. Helen Brown was hostess for the Better Homes and Garden Club annual Christmas party on December 21 at a local inn. A delicious meal was followed by a slide presen tation by Dr. Joseph S. Parker, associate professor of biology at North Carolina Central University. Remarks were also given by Dr. Percy L. High and Dr. J.W. Hill. A festive time was enjoyed by the following members and guests: Mmes. The Founders envision ed an organization of college women pledged to serious endeavor and community service. These youthful students demonstrated a vital concern for social welfare, academic excellence and, cultural enrichment.; Their ideas of scholarship and -service have withstood the test of time. The Enfield-Roanoke RapidS Alumnae Chapter, chartered on February 15, 1975, has continued the thrust that was started by those 22 daring young women. The Enfield-Roanoke Rppids Chapter has made donations to y numerous civic, social T and political organizations locally and nationally. Ap- proximately $40,000 in scholarship awards have been given to area students since 1975. The members have also sponsored numerous public ser- -vice projects.
