The weeklong program includes- inten sive morning workshops in four areas of specializa tion: Poetry with James Applewhite, Script Writing with Hal Crowther, Writing for Children with Linda Hirschmann, and Fiction Writing with Lee Smith- In addition to daily speakers series, the seminar includes individual script conference and small group sessions daily. SQUARE DANCE Come swing your partner at Hassle House's Square Dance on Friday, April 16, 9-12 p.m., at the Coffeehouse on Duke University's East Campus (next to the East Campus Post Office). Music will be provided by Michael Fishback" and The Durham Rangers. Refreshments and munchies will be available. A donation of $3 will be requested at the door. Hassle House is a non-profit crisis interven tion center Mich serves the Durham community. All proceeds will be used to help continue Hassle House services. AARP MEETING The Durham Orange Chapter No. 189 of the American Association of Retired Persons will meet April 21 at 2 p.m., at Henderson Towers auditorium, 807 S. Duke Street. Dr. Joseph S. Parker, Jr., associate professor of biology, NCCU, will present a slide show on the Art and Tips of Flower Growing. The slides will also in clude flower growing in Mexico and Hawaii. The, Strong Campbell Interest In ventory is an instrument which measures the similari ty of the test takers' interests to thos of people already employed in diverse occupations. It is especiajly helpful to people exploring careereduca tional options who want to understand how thier in terests fit into the world of work. For further infor mation, call 684-6259. A SPRING JOB SEARCH GROUP is being of fered to job seekers who are finding it difificult to stay motivated now that Spring has arrived. The group will provide structure, support, and resources to assist participats in developing a fresh approach to their job search. Group sesisons will be held on Mon days, 10-12 noon, beginnign April 26 and running through May 31. The six week session will offers assistance to job seekers in identifying marketable skills, targeting job openings through networking, and improving skills in resume writing and interviewing. Resources available to participants include library materials, a job search packet, and guidance by a professional counselor. RESOURCES DIRECTORY AVAILABLE The 1982 Directory of Durham Community Resources is now available at the Durham County Library. The guide lists and describes approximately 400 local agencies and organizations offering services and information to the people of Durham. Free copies of the book one per person are available at the Main Library, all the branch libraries, and the bookmobile. People needing multi ple copies for-use in agencies must make their re quests at the Main Library. ! RICHARD II The National Shakespeare Com pany will conclude the 1981-82 Broadway at Duke Series with a performance of Shakespeare's immortal tragedy, "Richard II". The play will be presented for one performance only on Sunday evening, April 18, at 8:30 p.m., in Page Auditorium on Duke's West Campus. i " Tickets are priced at $8, $7 and $6 and are available at Page Box Office.
