"April Showers", togget. down in cute playsults, dressy outfits and sport swear, many of the youngsters who attend Russel; Memorial's Child Development Center wowed their parents, friends and supporters during a fashion 4 show last Saturday. ' . . .; . ' : The show, a fund raising event for the develop ment center, climaxed a drive that featured center students soliciting sponsors and donations. ' .. The youngsters who raised the most money for 'the center were Rodney Hunter, who raised $91 and was crowned "King" for his efforts, and Andrea Scott, who raised $193 and was crowned "Queen", The two, were crowned Mr. and Miss Russell Memorial. The fashion show, entitled "April Showers", featured casual wear, such as playwear, sleepwear, -and "streetwear"., It also featured dresswear such fas Sunday and formal clothes. Other outfits shown In the show were mother-daughter, father-son mat ches, antt swimwear. Several development center teachers also model ed outfits. Ms. Vanessa V. Hunter is PTA president and Mrs. Lstrma Whelchel is director of the Center. IT --Ladies Aid Society The Ladies Aide Society met recently at the home . of Mrs. Helen R. Jones on Can a Street. The home was beautifully decorated with house plants. Mrs. Clara Perkins was co-hostess.
