Seemingly many fathers were very happy on Sun-,
day, : according to the card buying record for
"Fathers Want Honor, Too!" .
Mrs. Eloise Haith, a second grade teacher at
Ferguson-Easley School, carried out an interesting
project v teaching her children and integrating
economics into basic curriulum. The Koogle was

elbow macaroni. Mrs. Haith's project was in con
junction with a program sponsored jointly by the
Fayetteville Area Chamber ; of Commerce and
Fayetteville State University's Economic Education
Center; Mrs. Haith .was honored at a luncheon
given Friday at Highland Country Club. She receiv
ed a plaque and a S50 check along with the honor.

The American Legion Auxiliary opened its 62nd
annual convention at Bordeaux Motor Inn Conven
tion Center. - ,
Among the activities scheduled were annual
reports from department officers and chairmen,
election and installation of department officers,
and election of delegates for the national conven
tion in Chicago. . ' !, f , , ' ,;
Candidates for vice president included Delphine
Grubb of Spring Lake and Francine Cole of San-,
ford. Awards and recognition will also be given to
units and individuals for outstanding achievement.

her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, from the
University of North Carolina School of Dentistry at
