Car o winds Ptans Special Events For Fourth of July 4
CHARLOTTE In
celebration of the 4th of July,
Carowinds will be extending
park hours and hosting special
events which include' a circus,
added paladium entertainmetn
and a fireworks display.
. Park officials stated that
operating hours will be extend
ed through July 4 with the
park staying open f rom 10
a.m. to 10 p.m.
Carowinds, normally closed
on Fridays; -.will be open on
Friday, July 2.
Paladium 'entertainment
during this weekend will in
clude The Temptations with
Roger arid Zapp on July 2,
T.G. Sheppard with the
Wright Brothers on July 3 and
the Osmond Brothers featur
ing Donny and Marie Osmond
on July 4. ; j -
Special circus performances
will be presented ' daily at
Carowinds through July LI.
The ; performances in the
County Fair section of the
park will include clowns,
animal acts, comedy routines
and a daring high wire perfor
mance by the famous Tino
Wallenda.
Admission to the circus will be
free to park guests once inside
the park. ;
The Temptations, who've
been recording for over two.
decades, will perform one
; show in the Paladium on Fri
day, July 2 at 8 p.m. The
group has won three Grammys
and several gold and platinum
awards for such hits as "The

in the Paladium at 3 and 8
p.m. on Saturday, July 3,
began his recording career in
1974. Since joining r, with
Warner Brothers in 1977,
Sheppard has had a string of
' number one songs on the
country charts including
"Loved Em Every One",
"Only One You" and his
, latest crossover hit "Finally".
The music of the Osmonds
is known nationwide to all
ages. Since 1969 when Donny
joined his brothers and form
ed the "Osmond Brothers",
the group has appeared in
sellout world tours, performed
for the Royal Family and
received numerous awards and
honors for such songs as
"Down by the Lazy River"
and "Make The World Go
Away".
Today the Osmond Brothers
consist of Alan, Wayne, Mer
rill and Jay. Donny and Marie
Osmond will be appearing
with the Osmond Brothers in
their July 4 Paladium shows at
2 and 7 p.m.
Admission to all concerts
. during Fourth of July week is
; $3 in addition to regular park
admission of $10.95. Tickets
, are sold at Carowinds on the
day of the show on a first
come, first-served basis.
Concluding the day's ac
tivities on the 4th of July will
be a spectacular firework
display at 10 p.m.
Carowinds, located on 1-77
at the North CarolinaSouth
Carolina border, is now open
