Stewart, former-Durham Mayor Pro-Tem and former president of Mutual Savings and Loan Association, will speak. -The late C. C. Spaulding was president of North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, Mechanics and Farmers Bank, and Mutual Savings and Loan Association. He was also a deacon and trustee of White Rock Baptist Church and be quested to the church a sum of money which was used to establish a scholarship fund in 1952. Many, students have been recipients and benefitted from this fund during the past 30 years. r's'tr Stewart, a trustee of White Rock Baptist Church, was a protege of Mr. Spaulding and succeeded him" as president of Mutual Savings. He was a member of City Council for 15 years and served as Mayor Pro-Tem two years. He was chairman of the Committee on the Affairs of Black People and served as a director of Duke Power Company, Mechanics and Farmers Bank and North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company. He is vice-chairman, Durham Hospital Corpora tion and John Avery Boys Club.
