Book Club has chosen Felice, a first novel by Angela Davis-Gardner of Raleigh, as its current featured literary selection. The book, published by Random House in May, 1982, is the first novel by Ms, Davis-Gardner, who is the daughter of historian and novelist Burke Davis, Jr. and the sister of novelist Burke DavPs, III. The elder Davis's Sherman's March and the younger's Dwelling Places Monday-Friday Daytime were N.C. Book Club featured selections last winter. Ms. Davis-Gardner is the; winner- of a 1981 North , Carolina fellowship award from the N. C. Arts Council for creative writing. Reed is profesor of sociology and adjunct pro fessor of American studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. A lively, informal history of , more than three centuries of southern hospitality and cuisine, Eating, Drinking and Visiting in the South is the N.C. Book Club's featured general selection for the sum mer quarter. Written by Joe Gray Taylor and published by the LSU Press in May, 1982, Eating, Drinking and Visiting in the South traces regional gastronomic habits from the sparse diet of the first settlers on the Atlantic shore to the lavish corporate cocktail par ties of the New South. Mr. T of 'Rocky III' To Guest Star In 'Silver Spoons' Episode Mr. T., who plays the powerful boxing opponent of the character portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in the popular motion - picture - 'Rocky III," will guest-star in an episode of "Silver Spoons," NCB-TV's coming series . starring Rick Schroder and Joel Higgins (Saturdays, 8:30-9 p.m., NYT starting this fall). In the episode, Mr. J. will play the bodyguard hired by multi-millionaire Edward St rat ton (Higgins) to protect his young son, Ricky (Schroder. Being a bodyguard is nothing new to Mr. T., who has served in that capacity to celebrities such as LeVar Bur ton, Muhammad AH; Michael. Jackson and Leon Spink's. He: is nicknamed "The Bodyguard" and that's the ti tie of ' his , coming autobiography focusing on his experiences in that profession. Born Lawrence Tero in Chicago, he was a three-time city wrestling champion with 90 victories and one loss while he was a high school student.
