DEATHS AND FUNERAL SERVICES fek . J, MORGAN ,vc , , Funeral services for John Pierpoint Morgan of 912 Corona Ave,., who died Fri day. September 25 at Duke Medical Center, were held Wednesday. September 29 at Ebenezer Baptist Church by Rev. Broadie Johnson. Burial was in Glennview Memorial Park. He was a native of Durham and was educated in the Durham public schools. He was employed at Lig gett and Myers Tobacco Co for 49V2 years and was a member of Local 194 Tobacco Workers Interna tional Union and was a Committee man. He was president of the Board of Directors of Clement Barbee Jones Inc: He served for several years on the Board of Directors of T. A. Grady Recreation Center. He joined Mount GiTead Baptist Church in 1925. There he was suDerinten- dent of Sunday School, janitor, trustee, director of the Male Chorus and deacon. Later he joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and served as bible instruc tor for Sunday School Teachers,1 Men's Class teacher, president and member of the Senior Choir, director and member of the Male Chorus and chairman of the Deacon Board. Morgan was a past master of Dorcas Lodge 460, where he became Worshipful Master in 1947. Surviving are his wife, Mrs; Beulah vH.1 Morgan: three ; . daughters; A Mrs. ' Margaret Bourne of Brooklyn. ; N. Y.. Ms. Gladys Morgan and Mrs. Deanna Farrar; two sons. John P. Morgan Jr. of Wolcott.
