The Eagles of North Carolina Central - are ranked Sth in the NCAA Division II while the Spartans of Norfolk State are 7th in the NAIA. Both the Eagles and Spartans .boast outstanding offensive and defensive squads. Central leads the CIAA in passing offense (169.8), total offense (361.0) and scoring of fense (31.5). They are fourth in rushing offense at 191.3. Leading the Central attack1 is the m u 1 1 i -1 a 1 e n t e d sophomore signalcaller Gerald Fraylon. Fraylon leads the conference in passing and total of fense. He has completed 43 of 89' passes for 679 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Eagles have allowed a league leading 55.0 yards through the airways and are ranked second in total defense at 195.5. The Spartan's are on top in total defense having allowed 163.5 yards per game. They are giving up 100.8 on the gorund. Against common op ponents ' Norfolk beat Fayetteville State 26-6 and 'Winston-Salem 16-7. Central beat those teams 20-15 and 37-17 respectively.
