The Red Mountain Lodge No. 468 and Shenan
doah Chapter No. 661 are having a Thanksgiving
Service and dinner on Sunday, Nov.'21, at the New
Home and Durham Convention Center at the cor-,
ner of Guess Road and St. Mary's Road. This ser
vice will start at 5 o'clock. Rev. Herman Mclver
will be the guest speaker. All area ministers and
". their congregations are expected to attend and the
public is invited. Dinner will be served after the ser
.' vice.
Home for the NCCU game last week were Miss

The Pastor's Aid of the New Red Mountain Bap
tist Church, Rougemont, held its regular service
Nov. 11. With Mrs. Nola' Folks, president, in
charge of the discussion, preparations for the
Chirstmas holidays were discussed and finalized.

Aunt JemimaTHeritage Corn Bread Dressing
1 cup chopped onion
Vi cup margarine '
1 pan corn bread, cooled, crumbled
(see package recipe)
6 cups soft bread cubes
3 cups fresh mushroom slices
Saute- onion In margarine; add to combined remaining ingredients. Toss lightly,
mixing wed. Place in 3-qt. casserole; cover. Bake at 325F. about 1 hour. Or, lightly
stuff dressing into body cavity and neck region of a 16- to 18-lb. turkey; roast
according to standard roasting directions. Makes about 3-qt. dressing.
VARIATION: Substitute 2 cups coarsely chopped apple and 1 cup raisins for
mushrooms.
NOTE: When baking dressing in casserole, use 2Vt cups broth; when baking
dressing In turkey use 2 cups broth.

award to Norwood Mack for outstanding work;

Music was presented by the Lyon Park Center
and club members led by E.T. Artis and Mrs. Ruth
Singleton. J.M. Schooler was the guest speaker.

Program To Be Held Sunday
The Crusader's Club Anniversary program will
be held Sunday, Nov. 21, 3 p.m., at the W.D. Hill
Recreation Center. Appearing on the program will
be the Mount Calvary Holiness Church , Senior
Choir, Freewill Christian Church Gospel Chorus,
Mount Sinai Baptist Church Gospel Chorus and
Union Chapel Gospel Chorus of Butner. The public
is invited.

y Lyon Park' Rose Garden Club
The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club held its
November meeting at the home of Mrs. Annie B.
Green on Geer Street.
The meeting was opened with the club song and
devotions, followed by minutes, committee reports
and the reading of a poem about Thanksgiving by
Mrs. M.W. Webb, president.
Miss Reginia Brooks showed plant tips from
slides and the discussed factors for growing healthy
house plants.
Mrs. Flonnie Smith was a guest. Members pre

Shaw, Sadie Chambers, Lossie Foushee, Mary S.
