tory over the Eagles. The

104 as the Panthers
avenged an earlier 27-26
loss to Central.
The Eagles were to get
record setting perfor
mances from Gerald
Fraylon and Victor
Hunter but it wasn't
enough to offset the
crunching rushing of the
Big Red Machine.
Sophomore quarter
back John Johnson rush
ed for one touchdown
and threw for another as
the Panthers bolted to a
14-0 lead after 16
minutes of play. Central
got on the scoreboard at
11:30 of the second
period when sophomore
quarterback Gerald
Fraylon threw an 8 yard
pass to senior receiver
Victor Hunter. A 39 yard
interception by All

when wide-receiver Carl
Bland deftly returned a
Tony Frasier 56 yards
for a score. '.
Fraylon directed to
two scores over a five
minute span. He hit
Hunter on a 5 yard score
at 7:36 and then ran in

Central's onside kick
was recovered by
William Dillon and the
Panthers ran out the
final three minutes.
EAGLE NOTES-Hunter
caught 7 passes for 105
yards giving him record-
setting seasonal marks of
47 receptions -for 993
vards. He became the all-
time receiver at NCCU

yards. Fraylon com

17 times. He rushed
another 166 times for

season mark for total of

mark. Benny Tate, who
set out the championship

became only the second
NCCU back to reach the
1000 mark when he ac
cumulated 1036 on a

ries. He had earlier set

(42 against Morgan) and
rushing yards (215 vs.
