Second Payment

Community Health Center.
Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Parker and three sons
have returned to Maryland after spending several
days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Parker and Mrs. Phoebe Cozart, all of Bahama.

The R.G. Lipscomb Missionary Bible Class held
its monthly meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Johnson Rosewood, with Mrs. Olinzie
Johnson, hostess, on Monday evening. Members of
the class held their Christmas party on Saturday,
Dec. II, at Mount Level Baptist Church.
Winnie Neal Senior
Citizens Club
Thirty-nine members and friends of the Winnie
Neal Senior Citizens Club took their , annual
Thanksgiving tour to Florida, Nov. 22-28.
The itinerary included Jacksonville, Miami, Key
West, Clearwater, Tampa, EPCOT Center and
Disney World in Orlando; and Daytona Beach. '
Mrs. . Elizabeth Edwards and Mrs. Maude
Boykins were hostesses for the trip.
Cosmetologist dub No. I
The Cosmetologist Club I met at the home of
Mrs. Lillie Carver last month.
Birthday wishes were expressed to Mrs. Betty
Fowler and Mrs. Carver. Various plans and reports
were heard and discussed.
The following members were present: Mmes. M.
Brockman, S. Lennon, C. McCloud, B. Moss, N.
Grimes, E. Brown, E. Dunn, L. Carver, B. Fowler
and T. Taborn.
The December meeting was held Monday at the
YWCA with Mrs. Frances Caully as hostess.

Ebenezer Floral Club
The Floral Club of Ebenezer Baptist Church met
Dec. 6 at the home of Mrs. Addie Barbee on Geer

The Floral Club has agreed to be responsible for
furnishing the food and service for the Christmas
Program on December 19 at 6 p.m. Plans for the
Christmas Dinner and Party will be made at a later

Clain, Lillie Mclntyre, Martha Stanley, Josephine
Freeman, Ruth ; Flowers, Michelle Johnson, the
pastor's wife; Beulah Morgan, Ila Mae Evans,
Ethel McNeil; Odell Keith and Germaine Johnson,
the pastor's son.

Masonic Conclave
The Crown and Scepter Grand Chapter and the
Luxor Grand Lodge No.' 44 of Modern Free and
Accepted Masons of the World, Inc., held their an
nual conclave in Fayetteville, Nov. 26-28, at the St.
James Inn. ;
Ms. Annie Belle' Buffaloe of Raleigh was re
elected Grand Matron; Mrs. Shirley B. Hester of
Durham was elected the Associate Grand Matron.
Mrs. Hester is the past Associate Conductress of
Crown and Scepter Chapter and the Worthy
Matron of Corinth Chapter No. 343, OES, of
Durham. She is the wife of E.Li Hester, Sr., and is
the mother of five children. She is an active member
of St. Joseph's A.M.E. Church.
Price Street Neighborhood Club $
The Price Street Neighborhood Club met Friday,
Dec. 10, at the home of Mrs. Queen E. Toon on
Price Avenue. ;
Miss Annie Dunnigan told the Christmas story
following devotion. Plans were made for the annual
Christmas Party to be held at the home of Mrs.
Murma Dunnigan and Miss Annie Dunnigan on
Dec. 16.

A Christmas dinner was served.
Present were:" Mesdames Lucy j Holloway,
Isabella Harden, Fidelia Brooks, t Cora Brown,

Each person present received a gift.
A special prayer was said for Mrs. Scrvater Evans

The January meeting will be at the home of Mrs.
Isabella Harden.
Lillie McDade Circle
The Lillie McDade Circle had its Thanksgiving
Program on November 13 at the Pine Knoll Rest
Home. Following the devotion, patients expressed
thanks for their blessings. Gifts were presented to
.patients and staff consisting of candies, fruits, toilet'
articles, sweet potatoes, etc.
Present were Mmes. Rosetta W. Southerland,
president; Mary M. Daniel, Pearline Sutton, Nan
nie Evans, Mary' Ann Daniels; and a visitor,
William D. Southerland. .
Progressive Mothers' Club
The Progressive Mothers' Club held its annual
.Christmas party on Friday evening, Dec. 10, at the
Downtowner Motor Inn. The evening began with
dinner and a program. Christmas carols were sung
and gifts were exchanged by the members and
guests.

The Yahama Social Club met Sunday afternoon,
December 5, a the home of Edna and Velton.

The Thanksgiving Project, "Share Your?
Thanksgiving With a Needy Family", was a huge
success.
The following activities are planned to usher in
the Christmas season: The club wiu be visiting,
caroling, and delivering fruit baskets to sick and
shut-in persons in the Durham community and.
selected rest homes in the city on Saturday,
December 18 at 4 p.m.; the annual Christmas and
New Year's Eve party will be held on December 31
at the home of James and Marjorie Johnson.
Birthday persons recognized for the months of
November and December were: Elizabeth Pretty
and Octavious Tate, November; and Richard Cole, "

Following the meeting, the host and hostess serv-

Thanksgiving Reunion
The family of the late Roy G. and Essie Womack
Trice were hosts to an old-fashioned Thanksgiving
celebration at the House of Zafa, South Alston
Avenue, on Thanksgiving Day.
The families of Ervin Trice, Mrs. Louise Trice
Moore, Mrs. Winfried Trice Headen, Mrs. MinerVa
Trice Fields were introduced, along with each
member of their family, out-of-town relatives from
Virginia, Goldsboro, Greenville, S.C., Atlanta,
Ga. , New York and friends.
The highlight of the evening was display of
posters of family portraits. The caption read, "The
Way We Were".
A dinner of turkey and all the trimmings, barbe
que and lots of other holiday goodies was served.
