Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, N.Y. He died Sunday, June 4, in Mt. Vernon. He was born January 18, 1940 in Durham, N.C., a son of the late Wil liam Edward Ballentine, Jr. and Mrs. Everlee Gerald Ballentine. He at tended Durham City schools and was a graduate of Hillside High School. He earned a certificate of Tools & Machinery in a Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Machine Operation in Mt. Vernon. He was employed as a machinist at K&E Company in Mt. Vernon. Surviving are a daughter, Ms. Linda Faye Hanchard of Norfolk, Va., a granddaughter, Ms. Fallon Hanchard; three sisters, Ms, Bernice Roberts, Ms. Joanell Campbell and Ms. Lula Evans, all of Durham; a brother, James Nathaniel Ballentine of Durham; several nieces and nephews. SAMUEL LEE JORDAN, SR. Final rites for Samuel Lee Jordan, Sr., were held Wednesday, June 21, at White Rock Baptist Church. Rev. Reginald Van Stephens, pastor, of ficiated. Burial was in Glennview Memorial Park. He died Friday, June 16, at Duke University Medical Center at the age of 86. He was a native of Le Blanc, Louisiana, a son of the late James and Mrs. Martha Whitley Jordan, He moved to Durham in 1938 and worked as a chef at Duke University until his retirement. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church, an usher, member of Moorc-Kennedy Bible Class, Deacon Board and College View District. He was associated with Boy Scout Troop 55. He spent numerous hours in the organization of the kitchen at the church. He volunteered at Henderson Towers, a senior citizens residence. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elma Davis Jordan; two daughters, Mrs. Marian Jordan Goodson of Darlington, S.C. and Mrs. Kathleen Jordan Snuggs of handover, Md.; a son, Samuel Lee Jordan, Jr, of Durham; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Henry Jordan of Stratford, Conn. Mr. Jordan’s sister. Mrs, Rebecca J. Bruce of Philadelphia, Pa., also died on Friday, June 16, in Philadelphia, Arrangements were by Fisher Funeral Parlor. MISS DASMIAN GONZAtEZ Final rites for Miss Dasmian "Pumpkin" Gonzalez were held Saturday, June "17, at Fisher Memorial United Holy Church. Rev, Norman Thomas, Jr. officiated. Burial was in Markham Memorial Garden. She died Wed nesday, June 14, at her home. She Was bom May 7, 1985 in Orlando, Fla., a daughter of Luciano Gonzalez, Jr. and Mrs. Georgia Gonzales. She attended public schools in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C. and Durham. She was an honor roll student. She was a member of Fisher Memorial Church. Surviving, in addition to her mother and father, are a brother, Damian .McFaddcn; maternal grandmothers, Mrs. Adlean Green and Mrs. Olga Benitez; paternal grandfather, Luciano Gonzales, Sr.; great-grandmother, Mrs. Virginia Benitz; five aunts, five uncles and several cousins. Overseer Virgil Myers, pastor, of ficiated. He died Tuesday, June 13, at Duke University Medical Center. He was bom May 30, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Mrs. Annette Brown and the late William Henry Lyons. He attended McKinley Tech High School, Washington, D.C., and later earned a degree in business management. He was employed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a housekeeping manager. . He was a member of Greater Zion Wall Church and later New Bethel Holiness Church where he was president of the Trustee Board and a Sun- dav School teacher. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Manel Robin Lyons; two children, lesha Lyons and Cyncerley Lyons; mother, Mrs. Annette Brown; six sisters, Ms Theresa Bell of Chicago, 111., Ms. Rose Lyons and Ms. Lynda Lyons, noth ot Aurora, Ill., Ms. Billie Joe Hodges, Ms. Barbara Lyons and Ms. Yolanda Bowman, all of Durham; grandfather, Jerry E.
