PHes Cured la ? So 14 Days Voar Sisaslsl dll RhraS Hour M MiO Taffy Club. The Taffy Club wa* entertained by Mian Ruth Odmn, at her home, on Church Street, Monday evening very uniquely and charmingly. The guost* on entering were inhered into tlie aouth parlor. There they obaerved that the deco ration* were patriotic. Red white and blue were seen in abundahce and one could bkrdly remain in ignorai.ee of the fact that Monday waa a day of National rejoicing. Even George, himaelf, could not have disapproved of the color scheme. George Washington suit* and Martha Washington dresses were the costumes of the guests. First among the entertainment offered was the choosing of partners. This was carried out by the young ladies and young men drawing colonial hatchets from charmingly decorated trays. On each of these was the name of a young gentleman or lady, and much amusemeut wa* caused by the partners the respective ones drew. Washington and bft cabi net, with their better halve* were the names i users bed on each handle of tlie hatchets. Washington's career wa* traced from bis buyood until gray hairs streaked bia brow, and eveu the intimaceys of bis courtship were were shown with marked approval. To the strains of Mendlesbon Wedding March, rendered by Miss Ruth Odom, George and Martha marched down the flower strewn hall to tlie inproyued alter. Here Miss Josephene' Harrel), as Martha, was given to Mr. James Stanley I.ear#, us Geerge Wash ington, by the maid of honor Miss Annie Parker leaning on the arm of the best man, Mr. Clarence Askew. Perry. After the cere mony wa* conducted, the mem bers of the- wedding party, com posed of Miss Josephene Harrell, Mr. James Stanley Leary, Miss Annie Parker, Mr. C. A. Perry, Miss Ruth Odom, Miss Nancy Leary, soloist. Miss Virginia Dare Howard and Mr Alfred Lee Oopeland, acting minister, led the remaining members of the cabinet in a colonial wedding ball. "After the ball was over" Miss Odom, assisted by Miss Lillian Buyette, served refreshments which further carried out the general color scheme. Everyone voted Miss Odom a charming hostess and departed with a feeling touched with patriotic sentiments. Those attending were; Miss Idare Henry with Mr. James S. Leary, Miss Lillian Boyette with Mr. Alfred Lee Copeland, Miss Florence Eeveylie Gerock with Mr. James Pembroke Baker, Miss Nancie Pastoria Lerry with Mr. Clarence Askew Perry, Miss Josephene Harrell with Mr. Wil liam Skilea Britton, Miss Virginia Dare Howard with Bernard Banks, Miss Annie Mae Parker with Mr. Robert Oscar Gerock, Miss Ruth' Odom with Mr, James S.
