A number of our farmer friends were in Ahoskie Wednesday to to attend a business meeting of the Hertford County Farmers' Union. Messrs, J. W. Alexander aud B. Scull returned Tuesday from Raleigh where they went to turn W. J. Sitterson over to the peni tentiary authorities. Rev. Joseph Peele, Dean of Guilford College, spent Sunday evening in town with Atty. E. T. Snipes, on their return from Frieuds Quarterly Meeting in Rich" Square. Mr. Irving Newsome left Wed nesday to visit relatives in Aulan der. He will also spend sometime with bis daughter, Mrs. Marshall Lassiter, Vaughan. N. C., .before returning to Ahoskie. Messrs. M. H. Jones, B. Scull, II. S. Basnigbtand M. K. Sumner returned from Weldon last Friday Where they delivered the ten pris oners from this county to the Warren county authorities. The name Claude Green appear ing in Superior Court news last week should have been Claude Green, colored. We mention thie so that no one will get the name confused with our townsman Mr. Claude Greene. Those who were fortunate enough to witness the entertainment by the Maurer Sisters Tveeday evening in the Ahoskie school building pronounce it the beat of the season. There will be one more attraction of the Lyceum Club this season. Don't forget to attend teachers' meetiug at the Aboekie school building Friday morning at 10:80 o'clock. Piuceuts should lay aside their work for' a few hours and give the teachers of the county -sthe needed encouragement. Go and take a friend with you. Place your Easter advertising early.
