Our town was saddened when the n?ws of Judge Win home's death reached us. He was a noble in spirit, and true to all his friends. Individu als, towns, county snd state, all three will miss him. Mrs. Bingham Copeland from Ahoskie was here several days last week, attending her lover ones that are sick. Winton is blessed With two good women, Mrs. H. P. Taylor and Mrm. A. W., Liverman have nursed cases *f after cases of flu. They surely have lent a helping hand to all. Miss Thelma Mitchell spent last Sunday with her mother. It was her birthday tad like a child, she was glad to be home for the occasion. Miss Marietta Bridger entertained a few of her friends last Friday ening. All was merry with games, songs, but dancing was the princi pal enjoyment. Different kinds of fruits were served. Miss Rath Davenport, one of our girls that is teaching in the high school in Rich Square, spent the we?k end with her mother, Mrs. Lola Davenport. Miss Litzie Jones entertained a few of her friends last Friday night to en joy a game of rook. All had a very - good time. As this goes to print I hear Lieut. Hoyt. P. Taylor has been home. He was here the first of the week. Our reading room is open on Sun days. It has already proven a suc cess, for our boys and girls enjoy the magasines, hence they are in good company. Rev.
