I* I I Mother Writes Letter | Filled With Joy and Gratitude :* Mrs. J. H. Baker is a most esti mable woman, well known to hund reds'of people in her locality, a pro minent church worker and highly thought of by who have the plea sure of her acquaintance. Mrs. Baker letter follows: : Drumhill, N. C., November 27, '18. Dr. J. E. Masrow, Norfolk, Va., Dear Doctor: Pardon me for not writing to you ; before this for I havethought several times I would write, but something [ always hindered me. Iwant you to publish a testimonial ofour daugh ? ter's nerve trouble and her wonder ful cureby the glpsses you adjusted to | her eyes. We consider her cure almost a mir | acle?and in so short a time! Her condition wa. two hundred7 per cent better in two weeks' ttme after your first treatment. It is with a heart fairly bursting with grati tude to you for the wonderful cure you performed. How I wish you could see her now, looking the picture of health?cheeks red and rosy, rto more like her for mer self than if she wasn't the same child. Her nerves are as quiet as if they^ had never been any trouble with'them. We wouldn't take our Es tate (although small) for what you /have done and your charges were so / much less than what we had expected them to be. No one knows the anguish of a mother's heart, only those who have been through such atrial as I passed through. You are at liberty to write the testimonial in your own words, for you are aware of Rosa's condi tion when I took her to you. Tell all about the wonderful change in her in two week's time, for words fail me to express my appreciation for what you did for her. With best wishes for your welfare, Sincerely yours, V MRS. J. H. BAKER. If you had been told years ago that eye-strain was the cause not only of eye troubles, but headaches, nervous ness, stomach, liver and kidney troub les, menstrual difficulties, impaired memory stupidity in children, St. Vitu's dance and many other chronic nervous ills, you would have thought it ridiculous. If you had been told that relief and permanent cure could be effected by correcting the eye de ? fects by wearing the proper glasses, you probably would have declared it impossible. Yet all the ailments have been completely cured by this very simple method. Of course some people will not beHeve it yet, bufc the remarkable case told of in this article affords most convincing proof. GIRL OF 14 VICTIM OF MOST DISTRESSING TROUBLES. Miss Rosa Baker, who resides with her parents at Drumhill, N. C., weigh ed only 90 pounds a short time ago, after suffering the tortures of ex treme nervousness. St. Vitus' dance and other distressing ailments which many young girls just budding into womanhood t uffer. Her parents placed her in care of a physician, but the doctor's attention and medicines ut terly failed to benefit her. In fact, her condition greWfrom bad to worse bntil as her mother says, had she kept on suffering just a short time longer it would have killed her. GAINED 17 POUNDS IN JUST ABOUT TWO WEEKS TIME. | At the urgent request of a num ber of her frienda and neighbors the Qi^ents of Rosa brought her to Nor folk to have her eyes examined by Dr. Masrow, the well known eye sight specialist of Norfolk, Va. With masterful skill. Dr. Masrow quickly located the cause of all the trouble ' and adjusted a pair of glasses to j her eyes, and inalmoat unbeliably short time, all her trouble* were ban j ished, she gained 17 pounds inweight a nd is now a strong robust, healthy girl. V ' "SAFETY FIRST" MAN'S ? WIFE HAD BAD TEMPER The lives of thousands of people who cross the Chowan river, on the Atlantic Coast Line, at Tunis, N. C., are practically ir. the hands of Hen ry Lawrence, the ever-alert gate keeper at this point. Among numer ous other ailments, the "Safety First" man's wife had an almost ungovern able temper, caused by heir miserable physical condition,( which made life anything but pleasant: 'or him. But now everything is bright and chei rful in the I-awiencc home, as the follow ing letter attests: Tunis, Hertford Co., N. C., , April 27, 1918. Dr. J. E. Masrow, Norfolk, Va. Dear Dr. Masrow:? My wife has been an awful suf ferer from headaches and nervous ness for the past fifteen years. She also had an unusually bad temper, the result of her constant suffering, no doubt. Having heard of the wonder ful relief afforded other people by wearing your glasses, we called to see you on February 20th, this year After examining my wife's eyes, you laid all blame for her suffering on the bad condition of her eyes. After wearing a pair of your glasses only a few days her headaches and ner vousness, as well as her bad temper left her entirely. She is once more well and happy, cheerful and amia ble?and we both thank you for the great change your glasses have brought about. You are at perfect liberty to publish this letter, if you care to, as it may be of some help to others who suffer as my wife suffer ed for so long a time. ^ Gratefully yours, (Signed) HENRY LAWRENCE. Masrow, Norfolk, Va. Dear Doctor: About twelve year* ago when you were located on Main itreet, you fit ted me with a pair of glasses, I used them for seven years and they have given me perfect satisfaction. After you moved your office from Main street I could not locate you so I have been compelled to consult three other specialists during the last five years seeking relief, but none of them have been able to relieve me as as your first pair of glasses did. Within the last-five years I have been a sufferer from headaches and my eyes would smart and burn, pain ing me terribly, not allpwing me to read the paper for over ten minutes at a time. In fact, I have been in a general distressed condition and suf fered continuously with my eyes and head. About three months ago I noticed j in the Virgina-Pilot that your office was now on Granby street, so I camc to Norfolk specially to see you. Since I have started wearing your glasses with which you fitted me two months ago they immediately caused all my ailments to leave me entirely and I feel li^e a new man. I can cheerfully recommend you to all my friends who are suffering with anyeye troubles, headaches and ner vousness, or who are in need 01 glasses to consult you. I would appreciate it if you would publish this letter in your Norfolk papers and also in my home town pa per so that others may be benefitted as I have.
