Isenhower, a traveling evange list of no little fame as a powerful, gifted and versatile expounder of the gospel. Having delivered two unusually strong and effective er mons Sunday, be was formally "call ed" Sunday night and accepted. Mr. Isenhower has a family, which he will I brisg to *Xhoskie, when the neces-j saty preparations have been made for his coming. It is the prevailing opin-1 ion that he is "the man for the place." In the meantime, church goers of Ahoskie are eagerly await-1 ing his permanent arrival. ; 0 LOCAL MECHANIC | .... Considerable comment has been caused by the appearance of an odd looking, combination of automobile, push-wagon, and motorcycle, which is the latest product of a local boy ipedhanic, W. Godwin. It is an in genious combination of a dismantled auto-, motorcycle engine, and "other things." But does it run, don't think not, and almost without gaso line, the "engine" being of the "one lunger" type. While in itself not a great performance, this shows in a way,-an inventive inclination on the part of the aforesaid "mechanic," and is to be commended. 0 COLERAIN NEWS Mrs. Cecil Earless accompanied by her aunt, Mrs. Fannie Perry, returned from Portsmouth last Tuesday night after paying a visit to Mrs. Farlese' mother.
