HERTFORD COUNTY ROAD COMMISSIONERS MEET
Proceedings of last meeting read and approved.
The committee appointed to repair Murfreesboro bridge was continued
until next meeting of the board.
The board discussed the matter of working a construction crew for the
purpose of building new roads only, and upon motion and carried it was
voted that the Superintendent be given authority to purchase the necessary
mules and what additional equipment is needed and is instructed to start
this, construction work at once.
On motion and carried, J. R. Willoughby is relieved of all road duty for
the year 1922 on account of his physical condition.
Pursuant to a petition presented at meeting of June 15th., with refer
ence to abandoning Boone's Bridge, this question was. taken up by the
board; representatives of Kirby township, Northampton County, through
the road commissioners of said township appeared and presented a peti
' tion signed by some tax payers of both said Kirby township, and Maneys
Neck township, requesting that said bridge be repaired and kept open, and
also made proposition to the board that said Kirby township, Northampton
County was willing to rebuild saupbridge and to pay 50 per cent of its cost
and maintenance: The board of road commissioners after considering the
matter, upon motion and carried, voted that in their opinion the public in
terest of both counties did not justify the rebuilding of this bridge, and vot
ed that so far as Hertford County was concerned that it l}e and is hereby
abandoned. - T
The jury appointed to assess damages to property of Isaac Pipkin, Mur
freesboro township on account of road construction, made report to the
board allowing said Pipkin the sum of $200.00 for said alleged damages;
the board voted unanimously to disapprove this report, and to decline to
pay the same, it being, in their opinion, excessive.
The board upon motion and carried, voted to give B. N. Sykes and Dr.
W. B. Pollard the authority to investigate and purchase necessary creo
soted timber for the Wiccacon bridge.
It was moved and carried by the board, that Superintendent Hines be
given instructions to have the road in Maneys Neck township from the
Virginia state line to Murfreesboro straightened aa far as practical.
The following accounts against the board approved and ordered paid, to

Ibe American men and women moat
guard oonetantly against Kidney trouble,
because we eat too much and all our food
is rich. Our blood is filled with uria
acid which the kidneys strive to filter
out, they weaken from overwork, become
sluggish; the riiminative tissues clog and <
the result is kidney trouble, 61adder
weakness and a general decline in health.
When your kidneye feel like lumps of
lead; your back "hurts or the urine is
cloudy, full of sediment or you are
obliged to seek relief two or three times
during the night; if you suffer with sick
headache or dizzy, nervous spells, acid
stomach, or you have rheumatism when
the weather is bad, get from your phar
macist about four ouncea of Jad Salts;
take a tablespoonful in n glass of
water before breakfast for a few days
and your kidneye will then act fine.
This famous salts is made from the acid
of grapes and lemon juice, combined with
lithia, and has been used for generations
to fluah and stimulate clogged kidneys;
to neutralize the acids in the urine so it 4
no longer is a source of irritation, thus
ending bladder disorders.
J ad Salts is inexpensive; cannot in
jure, makes a delightful effervescent
lithia-water beverage, and belong* i?
every home, because nobody can make
a miatake by having a good kidney flush
ing any Urns.
