COLERAIN NEWS The Junior Philathea of the Bap tiat Sunday School had an enjoyable picnic at the Beach laet Tuesday. Miss Hilda Dukes of Union was the guest of Miss Mamie Stokes last week. Mr. J. C. Beasley went to Windsor last Wednesday. A number of our women attended (he Missionary meeting held at Abos kie last Wednesday. Misses Maybelle Perry and Vir ginia Rhea of Windsor arrived last Wednesday to visit Mrs. Cecil Beas ley. Mr. D. R. Britton was a visitor in Winton last Wednesday. Revs. Lineberry and Briatow went to Rich Square last Thursday to at tend the Sunday School Convention. Mrs. Mary Britton and children are visiting Mrs. A. D. White. There was a large crowd at the Masonic picnic at Pleasure Beach last Thursday. The weather was favor able and every one seemed to enjoy the day. Miss Margaret Overton left last Thursday to visit her aunt who lives near Murfreeshoro. Mrs. Dora Saunders and son James left last Friday for Waynesville to spend some time. Mr. J. S. Deans was in Ahoskie last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Roberson and children former ly of Richmond are the guests of Mrs. C. B. Moriss. Miss Thelma Forehand who has been attending summer school at Chowan College returned home last Friday. Miss Helen Winborne of Como spent last Thursday night and Friday with Mrs. C. W. Beasley. Dr. L. A. Nowell went to Winton last Saturday. Mr. Robert Sessoms who has been located at Roanoke, Va., spent several days at home last week . Miss Mary Lineberry, who has been attending summer school at Char lottesville, Va., returned home last Saturday. A match game of baseball was played here last Saturday between Tyner and Colerain. The game re sulted in a victory for Tyner. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Henry went to Ahoskie last Saturday afternoon. Miss Helen Roberson of Roberson ville, spent the week-end with Mrs. Clarence Beasley. Misses ViDa and Hasel Montague left last Sunday for Farmville, Va., where they will attend the the summer school. Miss Evelyn Bryant of Suffolk is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Henry. Mr. P. E. White of Hertford, who is sent by the Sunday school board, ia conducting a teachers' institute here and at Harrellsville. The study this week is "Winning to Christ." Owing to heavy rainfall of Sunday morning the crowd at the Beach last Sunday was not large. Mr. Clarence Rhea of Windsor was in town last Monday.. A party of people from Ahoskie held a picnic at the Beach last Mon day. Mrs. C. H. Northcott left last Tues day to visit her parents and relatives at Hurlock, Md. Mrs. M. R- Montague went-to Den ton, Md., last Tuesday where she will spend some time. Mr. J. J. Godwin, who has been at .the bedside of her daughter since I Saturday, returned home Tuesday. Little Obie Dilday, who underwent an operation at Lake View Hospital last Saturday, arived home Monday evening and is getting along nicely at this writing. Miss Thelma White is quite sick at her home near here. Mrs. Caroline Slaughter, is again on the sick list. Little Ruth Nickoia, of Center Grove is spending this week with her cousin Miss Ercell Simons at Bethle hem. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simons and family spent last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M.
