Ahoskie market on the opening sale.
Messrs. C. H. Phaup and J. M. Val
entine attended the opening of the
Wilson tobacco market Tuesday.
They reported tobacco as selling very
good on that market.
Miss Iola Wooten delightfully en
tertained a number of her friends at
a picnic at Golerain Pleasure Beach
last Thursday afternoon in honor of
her guest Miss Mae Belle Barnhill.
Mrs. E. M. Wooten is spending
some time in Hilton Village, Vs., as
the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Eley.
Mr. H. S. Basnight and Mr. Emer
son spent Monday in Suffolk on busi
ness.
Dr. Z. P. Mitchell and Messrs. M.
R. Montague and Manly White, of
Colersin, passed through town Wed
nesday enroute to Niagra Falls, where
they will spend their summer vaca
tion.
Mr. J. Mayon Parker, who has been
employed by the Logan Democrat at
Logan, West Va. for the past three
months returned home Monday. Af
ter spending a three-weeks vacation
here he will return to Wake Forest
College where he will resume his
studies.

turned to Ahoskie Monday. Mr.
Brown held a position with the
Fanners Warehouse here last year
and js again back on his same old job.

friends in Ahoskie who will be pleas

growers and farmers attended the
opening sale of the Ahoakie Tobacco
Market Thursday. m
Messrs. J. E. Lang and Solon Marsh
of Aulander, were in town Thursday.
Mr. Marsh states that he cured a nice
barn of tobacco which he expects to
sell on the Ahoskie market this year.
Mrs. H. G. Wagner and daughter
Miss Vaughan, who have been spend
ing 'some time as the guest of Mr.
and Mrs. E. C.. Hobbs, left last Friday
afternoon for theiy home in West
Virginia.
