ALLAN SIMPSON COLLAR POSEUR IN MOVIES NOW Monday and Tuesday-?Man Whose Pane Has Been Seen in Advertisements Plays in "The Exciters'* /He can't walk along a public high way without beln recognised! Even Et,rangers say "Hello" to him with the assurance that they know him wall, but cant place him. His face is al most as famous as Thomas Meighan's ?yet few .people know his nemo. His Jikeneas stares at one from billboards, electric signs, subway cards and state windows, and now in front of motion picture theatres. His name is Allan Simpson, poseur for nationally known collars, cigar ettes and hats. Now hs is a member of the supporting cast of the Para mount production of "The Exciters", co-starring Bebe Daniels and Antonio Mqfteno, which is on view at the RICHARD THEATER next Monday and Tuesday. When Simpson applied for work at Paramount's Long Island studio, the casting director frankly told him that he was hired because of bis classic features only, and not because of his histrionic ability which had not been proceed. Some time later, when Simp son was given a part in Allan Dwan's production of "The Glimpses of the Moon," the casting director was pleasantly surprised. Simpson play ed a somewhat minor role in this pic ture with such taste and discrimina tion that he was immediately signed for work in "The Exciters." It might be imagined by those who do not know Mr. Simpson that he is conceited. But Simpson can't help but know he's good looking. He's been receiving fine salaries from var ious manufacturers just for repro duction of his features in connection with commercial products long enough to realise that fact. "The Exciters" is a superb pic turization of a popular stage play directed by Maurice Campbell and in cluding in its supporting cast Burr Mcintosh, Diana Allen, Bigelow Cooper, Cyri Ring, Ida Darting, Jane Thomas, George Backus, and other playen of note. -? : - If you receive a sample copy of thia newspaper, keep right on turning a?>i til you road that page advertisement, in which you are offered a prise win ning weekly newspaper for One Dol lar Per year.
