It is the announcement of the open ing of a wholesale grocery estab lishment, which opened for busi ness on last Monday, September 1. The Barnes - Sawyer Company, wholesale grocers, in its organiza tion includes some of the most successful business men in this section, and from the very start success is predicted for this con cern, which has announced that tiicir policy and method of busi ness will be in line with the poli cies of the largest wholesale houses. J. Bailey Barnes, president, comes to Ahoskie from Roxobcl, where as manager of the- retail firm of Barnes Bros., he has made a wonderful-success in building up a large and profitable business, v;hich was recently closed out at value prices by that firm. He has for many years been connected also with a wholesale house; and prior to the establishment of his retail business in Roxobcl, he traveled for a wholesale house for several years, making many friends among the retail trade that will stand him in good stead now that he has entered iulo such a business for himself.
