We will soon observe our First Anniversary as a native of Ahoskie, and our hearts are filled with gratitude as we remember the kindliness and warm friend ships of the many friends that we have made in this past year. From the wonderful reception that was given us as the doors of our store opened on March 13, 1958 ... to the everyday visits by our friends—may we sincerely state that . . . "never have we known a more courteous and friendly people." While we are ver^/ young and have not had the opportunity to contribute to the growth and progress of Ahoskie and the great Roanoke-Chowan, we can certainly see the great promise of a progressive future for the area, and it is our humble desire to be a part of it.
