Our State Legislature meets the 7th of January, Our paper is mostly made up of figures this week. There were good rains last week and our streams improve. Rev. W. T. Cutcum of the M. E. Church comes to this circuit. The Commissioners were busily oc cupied for three days last week. The Annual "Exnihit" will enter, tain those interested In "the question of county finance. Regi!tr Teague sold, during the year ending the 1st Monday of -this month 181 Marriage licenses. Rev. George E. Hunt of the M. P. Church comes to this circuit and Rev. 1). A. Htehfill poes to Cedar Falls. W. F. Burkbead, a hard working .young farmer, raised the largest crop of wheat in New Hope township this .year. President Wood has resigned the Presidency of Trinity College and has been made presiding Elder of the Shel by District. Deputy Sheriff, II. G. Alspaugh of Winston who will put new life into the Institution. The general school fund will be dis tributed per capita and the special fund will be so distributed as to make the Districts share equally. The deceased was a consistant member of the Society of Friends and during his long life showed his faith by his works. All who knew him praised him for Ms virtue. During his afflictions he manifested a perfect willingness to submit to the will of the God in whom he trusted, though expressing a preference for death to life. We believe all is well with him. JENNINGS In Naomi Falls, Nov. 22nd. 1884, with typhoid fever, George Washington Jennings, aged 22 years, 8 months and 13 days. Thw remains were brought to the Cedar Falls M. P CUuroh for interment Sunday, Nov. 23rd. 1SS4, at 2 o'clock. George W. Jennings had been lingering for sometime before sick ness and on Saturday, Nov. 1st. 1884. was taken very ill and from that lip to his death ho suffered very much it seem ed as medicine and attention could do hiui no good. This property is new, having been built in 1S82. It consirts of seventy-one acres of land, valuable water power, stone and cement dam, situated five miles from Asheboro, six miles from Randleman, and twenty miles from High Point. The buildings consist of mam factory building 43 feet wide 200 feet long, two stories.
