Mr Lam beth graduated with Mr Sidney Robins at Harvard laat June, and made a speech that was compliment ed by President Roosevelt on the stage. Mr Lambeth ia a very bright young man. There was the usual protest of a ''hard examination," but it is fair to say that the questions covered the ground ana were not too uimcuit. Mr Thaddeus S Ferree, who re cently obtained his license to prac tice law from the Supreme Court tood,wU in his class at Wake Forest College. He completed the law courue laat spring, and has continued his studies dunus the summer. Mr Ferree returned to Wake Forest af ter obtaining his lioenae the first of September, and will probably not retnrn nomo leiore December, lie will attend the lectures given by Prof Gulley, the dean of the law school. Miss Xelie Hamlin died ut her mother's home iu Xorlh Asheboio Sunday night. Deceased was u daughter of Mrs James Spencer, who has lived in Asheboro many years, and sister of Mr Will Humlin, of Central rails. Mr M Taylor Sugg, of Krect, ufter a lingering illness of seveiul niontbs ot consumption died on lust l hursday, 14. i he funeral wits conducted at the home by Rev II A Albright, lie was laid to rest Sat urday in the Mt Olivet cemetery. A nioro extended piece will uppear later. Mrs Catherine Baldwin aged IS years died at 1 he home of her sou, Mr W J Haldwiu, in Troy, on September 17th, 1905. The deceased had been in declining health for several months. Mrs Baldwin's maiden name was McDonald and was bom in Scotland. Her parents camo from Scotland. Surviving children are J P Baldwin, of Ram seur; Angus Baldwin, of Hunting ton, W Va; Marion Baldwin, of (Jrecnsboro; W J Baldwin, of Tiny; Mrs A J Burrow, of iroy; and Airs Dennis Stinson, of Rutherfordton. The funeral was at Ramseur Tues day morning. Mrs Baldwin was well known to many ot our readers and was loved and respected for Inr kind, gentle christian spirit. Penalty lor Neglncl of Duty.
