Seminary is intended to be one in which j outli.s.

means, and this, at an expense not greater,
(probably less) than is incurred at most of the

’I'his Seminary is designed more particularl}
for preparing vonths for admission into the In

Colleges or Universities.
Norwich is one nf the most beautiful and
pleasant villages in New-Knghnid. It is locat-
e! about half a mile w est of the hanks of the
Connecticut, and an at elevation of about 170
feet above its surface. It is one mile from Dart
mouth College, 13 above Windsor, anl one
hundred and eighteen from Doston. ’I he ap
proach is easy and pleasant by means of excel
lent stages, which run three tii.tes a week in
Tarious directions. It is reached from Middle
town, IJoston and Aliiany in tw o days, and from
New-York in three days. For health, it is se
cond to no vilhige in New-England. 'I’his as
sertion is believed to be I'ully substantiated b\
tlu; fael, that dnring tlie whole time (four and
a half years,) that the American I.iterary,
Scientific and .Military ,\cadcmy was locatecl
there, sicknes.^ was scarcely known among the
members.—'I’he society is moral and refined.
1'he Seminary w ill be ])laced under the ini-1
mediate direction ancl superintendence of a
gentleman, w ho, from his age, classical, scien
tific and military aecpiirements, industry, un-
excejjtionable moral character, and experience
in the system of instruction j»roposed, is in ev
ery respect qualiiied to discharge his (hities in
the best possible manner. He will be* as.'^isted
by the re(pusite number of well fjualiiiid and
experienced instructors. The Institution will
frequently be visited by Capt. Partridge, and
will in every respect be under his genend di
rection. The following will be the ]jriuci))al
